Sump size
I am setting up a 110 gallon reef tank. I have a 90 gal that I've been planning to use for a sump, figured I wanted the biggest sump I could fit. The only problem is that it really doesn't leave me much space in my stand for much else down the road.
Am I likely to regret not having more space for other add ons? Will I see a big difference using the 90 vs finding a 40 gal breeder? |

Sumps generally run about 1/2 full so about 1/2 the water between the two.
Practically speaking all electronics should be away from water anyway so----

I use a 40b for my 120DT. Anything bigger in the confines of the stand will just be a PIA. Pick up a 40b at petco $1/g sale. The one near me seems to have the sale going all day, every day.

In liner with above comments I would emphasize accesability over maximum size.

What addons do you think you won't have space for? You can fit dang near anything INSIDE your sump that size without touching water.
