Pets of New Hyde Park (Long Island NY)

Hi Everyone,

Sorry to post this again... no one said if there is anythign I can do.

Today is the saddest day since I went to the Ã¢â‚¬Å“PetcoÃ¢â‚¬Â Saltwater section.

Pets of New Hyde Park are killing all their saltwater animals. The devastation is so bad that, EVERY tank is dying. ItÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s a shame to see such beautiful creatures being trapped in these tanks. My heart sank a little when I saw some of the coralsÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ they are all losing flesh and sliming over. I wouldnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t buy anything from them, and another customer turned to me and said how bad they all looked. I said something to one of the woman that worked there; she mentioned that several people have said something. But they arenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t doing anything about it.

I would buy them and try to bring them back to lifeÃ¢â‚¬Â¦ but most are too far-gone and to be honest they have WAY TOO MANY FISH IN EVERY TANK!!!! Also, I saw at least 2 creatures they shouldnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t have been selling but I think every store does this on occasionÃ¢â‚¬Â¦

Is there anything we can do to help these beautiful creatures? Can I report them to the ASPCA?

that's horrible

at least the petco near me doesn't sell coral, but i'm still mad they attempt to sell anything s/w

Hi Reefer91, Thanks for the post.

I wasn't saying this is Petco, rather the store's name is "Pets of New Hyde Park" Its independently owned... I wouldn't bother trying to go after Petco. Many have tried, its too big of a company.

This is a mom and pop shop, they should be held to a Standard... NO?

When it comes to animals we should all be held to standards because they have no choise when they're in our hands.

Current Tank Info: 20g L display: 2x65watt Coralife light, Octopus 150 needle wheel protein skimmer, 1 Koralia 2 and 2 powersweeps, and a DIY sump/fuge.....120G in the works!!!
