Nautilus TE Skimmer

My LFS has a used Kent Nautilus TE for $75? I have a 55gal reef tank and later plan to go to a 90 gall. I would like to use the same skimmer.

Has anyone used this skimmer? If so, how did it perform?

How does it rate to the ASM G2 (the one I originally planned to get)?

To get them to preform decent you need a good pressure rated pump. With pressure rated usually comes $$ and power consumption. By the time you pay for the skimmer and pump, you really haven't saved much.

IMO: Everything about the ASM leads to a better skimmer and would be worth the extra money. I would however step to the G3 as there isn't much price difference and your getting more skimmer.

depends on the pump- it may be worth it....but it needs a good pump....needlewheel for sure- otherwise you would be buying a needlewheel pump replacement.

Depends on the pump, he/she is trying to sell with the skimmer. My guess is though it's undersized and you will not be getting the max out of your skimmer. Good pressure rated pumps are upwards of $125 and above.
