30 gallon LPS cube setup
I am going to setup and oceanic 30 cube that houses predominately LPS corals.
I want to keep this setup as simple as possible but still maintain a clutter free look. So far I'm pretty set on this equipment: - Oceanic 30 cube (~20") - Deltec MCE600 Skimmer - Aquapod 150w DE fixture My biggest question is how to handle the flow in this tank? I am thinking of doing a closed loop with an eheim 1250 (~300 gph). What size plumbing/bulkheads would you use? A Larger pump? Any other suggestions for flow?

I did a very similiar setup to my cube that you plan on doing to yours.
heres thethread The only thing I can say is that I wish I would have gone with 3/4" holes on the closed loop returns and a 1" on the suction side as it is I have to throttle back on my pump so as not to cause cavitation. as far as pump, Im running a Gen-X Mak 40 on the CL and its doing just fine . . . as a return i have a Mag 5 let me know if you have any Q's |
