fyi and ? about culligans water

I go to wal-mart to buy my ro water. I was curious about their maintenance schedule so I contacted the culligans 800 #. They informed me that the tds requirements before serviceing must stay below 50. I know that 0 is the goal, what kinda problems may occur useing this water? Algae? I want to get my own filter but right now it is not an option.

I used wal-marts culligan water for nearly a year. I had no problems with it at all, but I just got tired of running to wal-mart everytime to get water. Is there a local Culligan business in your area? I contacted them and not the 800#. Most of the time they have a 'last serviced date' card on the machine. I bought a TDS meter and I never saw the culligan water get above 10.

For $100 you can get an RO unit and make your own water. You would recoup the costs in less than a year, and you wouldnt have to keep lugging water around...At least outside of the house...

wal-mart has a card that they keep on the machine of the last service date. It has a check mark that they checked it in jan of this year. But it doesn't show what the tds was, just that it was within parameters...0-50. It could be 49. I am definitely getting tired of running there for water, even though it's only 5 minutes from my house. it's still a pain.

I'm sure that the Culligan water would be better than using your tap water. 0-50 is SURELY lower in TDS than your tap water. You can get a good TDS meter on ebay for around $15. It sure was worth the $$$ though to get my own RO/DI unit from filterdirect on ebay. I think I paid abour $115 shipped for my 6-stage unit. Works great!
