What On Earth Is This ???

It's in the center of the picture and off to the right. It's some of mosaic looking slug / worm or something? I can't find anything on it. It's hasn't moved in days though.

I think that's a nudibranch.

They look weird like that.

It actually looks like a polychaete (due to segmentation) or a weird segmented flatworm. But with it looking as it does, I am leaning toward a polychaete of some sort.

Thanx fishinbuc. I've been lucky with coraline. Seems to grow pretty well. I supplement with the two part B-ionic.

The guy in the picture is about 1/2" long. I went and looked again after reading scubasteve's post, and it looks like there's another one underneath this one, but around towards the back. It doesn't look like they're connected. I'll take another picture tomorrow. The lights are off now.

I had something like that in my tank I found when I was moving rock around. I haven't seen it in over a year. Mine was about one inch long and had white tufts of hair, almost like a caterpillar. I never found out what it was. Don't think it was a nudi, had a hard shell.

That's no worm. It's a colonial tunicate.

This is getting pretty cool. My son spun the coral around and held a flashlight on it for me (just the actinics were on), and there was another whole band of whatever this is around the back and farther down.

don't know about the things in question but you might want to nip that aptasia at the bottom of the rock in the bud

Now that I see the entirety of the animal(s), I think it is indeed an ascidian (tunicate, urochordate, whatever you want to call it). However, this seems to be one of the more complex colonial versions, with individual zooids each as divided segements, all sharing the same tunic. Kinda cool if you ask me.

It's either a sponge of some sort, or a tunicate, leaning heavily towards tunicate.
