How LOUD is your standpipe?
I have been messing with my overflow for days now trying to make it work "right". I have both durso & stockman style standpipes with multiple height pipes, air valves, etc & I cannot make it quiet enough. The only way I can make it quiet is by closing a ball valve mounted on the drain a little bit. I recently upgraded to 1.25" drain & want to do it "right" this time. Please help!

Not really sure what you mean by loud since it's a relative term especially when it comes to tanks. One persons loud is another persons quiet. How much flow are you pushing through them? Assuming it's not a ton and they are new they should quiet down in a few weeks. I can't hear mine unless I really try.

If it's just one overflow you might try backing it down to ~ 600-700gph. 600gph is what the AGA overflows are rated for(not sure what type you have) and one side effect from pushing to much water through them is they get kinda loud.
