I don't believe in "reef safe crabs". They are opportunistic omnivores. If they want a live meaty meal they can and will do for it.
I'd ban that sucker to the sump.

that is an emerald crab. they wont eat meat unless its already dead IMO.

He looks very similar to the small crab I found in my tank 2 days ago. I've been looking for an ID, but had no way to take a pic and post it.

That's not a Stone Crab. That is an Emerald Crab!!!
Stone Crabs have a smooth body shell. Emeralds are green and bumpy which that one looks like. I can only go by the photo. You make the call. Marinworld

emerald crabs can be hairy on their legs. IMO with emerald crabs, they wont attack or harm anything unless its dead and sitting there. i have a few in my tank and theyve posed no problems what so ever. theyll eat algae from the rocks, floating pieces of nori, and every now and again i feed them pieces of silverside which they seem to enjoy.
