aqua clear wet/dry filter problem
I just bought a new 125 gallon auqua clear wet/dry filter. I set it up last night and everything is working properly except for the fact that my pump is drawing air. The water level in the sump area will build up and then I turn the pump on and the pump pushes the water back into the tank. How do I get the water level to stay above the mouth of the pump? The pump is as low as I can get it. I have a pump rated at 700 gph. The filter says I can use up to 860 gph.

You must lower the overflow box.

I tried that. I even drilled another hole in the top of the overflow box so I could lower it even more.

what rate is the overflow box rated at? maybe there is too much water being returned. try a ball valve on the return so you can slow it down a little.
