I just noticed three spots in the fin of my yellow tang. All other fish seem fine.
But I am very concerned

Remove the fish if you can. Quaratine and copper treatment are the best, but if you aren't able to do that try doing a good water change. Ich seems to be triggered by stress or poor water quality. Most the time fish can pop up with Ich and then fight it off.

I am looking for treatments for a reef tank. It would be very difficult to remove the tang because I have nowhere to move the rocks and corals to. But if thats the best way I will try to do it, but the last thing I want to do is stress the fish out by chasing him around the tank.

I've been treating my 55G reef with ICKATTACK for 2 weeks now.....
I also lowered my salt level from 0.026 to 0.018 "slowly" and My marron clown is looking a LOT BETTER there's a couple spots left .But i think it's working ........all inverts are doing fine. My green polyps didn't like it for a couple days. "they didn't open" But now they look fine. Hopefully it'll work . Stupid ick!

there's a lot of anecdotal evidence to support garlic supplementation to fight ich.

the only proven ways, or the two best proven ways, to treat ich are hypo and copper, neither of which you can do in a reef.

i used kick-ich once and it didn't work for me.

just recently, i had a major ich outbreak and i've been soaking the fish's food in "garlic guard" at every feeding. i've been feeding them heavy so they're nice and full and not messing with the tank otherwise. they seem to be fighting it off slowly.

there's alot of debate about garlic, and i thought it was all hocus pocus, but it does seem to be doing some good.

How about Cleaner Shrimp? They are suppose to eat parasites off fish. I have yet to see ick in my tank, however I plan to get a couple of Cleaner Shrimp to help control it.
