lighting sequence

Dumb question, I'm getting ready to buy a new t-5 light for my 55 and it has 1200k and actinic bulbs. What order am i supposed run these lights with a timer? and how long?

How many lights? You should kick on the actinics first maybe around 1 hour ahead of the 12k. And also turn them off around 1 hour after the 12k. Keep the 12k on for around from 6-8 hours. This is assuming you have light depent corals. If you dont have much light depent corals then you can cut the lights down. Each tank is different. If you tank breaks out in algea then cut it back a bit. If your corals are not doing good then cut it back. Some tanks the corals do better when the lights are on for 6 hours and some corals like 10-11 hours. I would say generally 6-8 hours is fine.
