calcium reactor
I'm sure this question has been asked a thousand time's, but the search thread hasn't worked for me. I'm in the market for a calcium reactor. I have a fully stocked 125 gal sps tank and can't afford to keep up with alk and calcium demands with a 2 part anymore. So I am going to buy a reactor in the near future. So I am trying to get a consensus. What are the better ones out there. Is there A big difference in product. Like the diffrence from one skimmer to another. There are a lot of option's out there so any suggestion's and opinions would be apreceiated. thanks!

I recently changed reactors to a Schuran JS-1, the thing is very well built and easy to use.

I recently changed reactors too, from a Korline to a LifeReef. The LifeReef is very well built and I like the design.
I like the circulation with the Mag 5.

SEAN T, I started looking into the schuran reactor and really liked what I saw. What is a ball park cost do you think setting one of these up from scratch.

the peripherals will cost you (tank, pH controller, regulator with solenoid etc) I just got my deltec 601s today - extras cost me almost 500 on top of the reactor - I went with the deltec as it is the only reactor that fluidizes it's media and that just makes sense that it would be more efficient (but I have no studies or comparisons to back that up which means this is all conjecture and opinion!) Doug from deltec states that many people end up running these only 12 hours per day as more would be too much ca and alk - I also looked at the geo and schuran - for the volume I wanted, the schuran model (the biggest one) was more than the deltec - the similar geo was 400 which is a great price and they have a great reputation, but as above did not fluidize the media - just my .02 - hope this helps

Check GEO (www.geosreef.com). Excellent build quality & very efficient. It's a stunningly simple design that's very effective. It produces a lot of output for very little CO2 input. No CO2 recirc tubes needed because the way he designed it it does that all on it's own
