What skimmer do i want to get?
So here is the plan. I am planning a 50-75 gallon tank with a potential 45 gallon sump. (min 95 and max of 120 gallon total water volume).
I am going to get a Deltec skimmer. So my question is which one? I was thinking of getting the AP600 found at http://deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/ap600.php but then i was thinking that given that i may try for a larger bioload that i should go with the APF600 deltec skimmer found at http://deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/apf600.php So ultimately my question would be which one would be more appropriate? I heard somewhere that the skimmer that you choose should be rated for double the total water volume of your system. On a side note, has anyone ever heard of making a collection cup for deltecs? Is it fairly simple to do and just how easy are these skimmers to clean? Thanks

ok.
Is there any truth to the rumor of "skimmer needs to handle double the amount of water volume you have"?

I think the AP600 would be more than fine.
