Disaster!
Well, my pre-skimmer basket on my 40 gallon tank has been a PITA since I got it, but recently the water level in it has been getting really low even though the water level in the tank is fine.. weiird.. So I decide finally to take it out and drill 2 holes in it to stop this problem, well it was hard to get out becasue of the rocks around it, but I managed it. So I come back ready to put it back on and one of my powerheads had fallen over and had been blowing in the sand, well thankfully it hadn't been long, but there was large cloud emerging from the sand, stupidly I didn't turn the powerheads off to stop the cloud from spreading, but I didn't. All the corals seem fine and it's clearing up nicely. However, just incase I go to mix up some saltwater, well in the rush of things I plugged the powerhead in before it was in the water, so.. when I put it in the water, it no longer works.. great.. so I used my arm to mix it..
So now I turned the powerheads off for a little bit to try to get the sand to settle quicker. It's clearing up nicely, but thank god I caught it when I did. The water is cloudy, but I can still see to the back and none of the corals/fish are showing any stress. Hopefully it clears up nicely. Keepin my fingers crossed.

My frogspawn appears to be enjoying it, it is the biggest I've ever seen it and has a few tentacles out filtering food.

i wouldnt worry at all about the powerhead stirring up sand. this happens all the time to reefers tanks and is no cause for concern. ussually the stirred up sand releases compounds into the water column that corals like and also gives the filtration a chance to strip unwanted nitrate sources out. this is why your frogspawn reacted so positive. the only issue that you can concern yourself with is that after check all corals for settled debri on thier surface. most corals can slimne up and remove this stuff but some cant.
