looking for opinions on side viewing tanks that are not in wall
I recently bought a 120 gal tank and only the front pane is not painted black because the previous owner had it set up in wall. When I set it up, it will not be in wall, so the sides will be viewable. I was thinking of keeping the sides painted black and building my stand to surround the entire tank so only the front pane would be seen. Then I only have to keep one pane of glass clean and I would have more room in the stand for equipment, hiding wiring, etc. Does anyone have a similar setup? If so, what do you like/dislike about it?

I dont scrape my side glass. Its just not really feasible with the way my rock is set up. I occasionaly miss being able to look down the length of the tank and see how something is growing from a front to back perspective, but ces't la vie.
I wish I had built my stand like you're saying, and it was covered like that.
