Thanks so much, Mr. jdieck.
Your comment would be very helpful in determining a type of return pump.

If what you are trying to do is to select a return pump you need to start by looking at the flow you want.
The performance curve will help you estimate how much flow you can get out of it. Assuming the sump is right under your 75 gal tank I estimate a head of about 5 to 6 feet so you might be able to get between 300 and 400 gal per hour limiting the total number of fittings. If your tank will be a 75 gal reef tank assuming you can put some internal recirculation with powerheads and that your overflow could handle it I would be looking for a flow in the order of 500 to 800 gph then a 30 RXT will be more suitable. http://www.reefs.org/library/pumps/p...waki30rxt.html Note that as an external pump it transfers less heat to the aquarium but is a bit more noisy. If you prefer you can use a submerged pump which is more silent and for that kind of flow and because of their history of performance a Daner Mag Drive 9.5 could do the job. http://www.reefs.org/library/pumps/pumps/mag9.html Enjoy!

Mr.jdieck
I 'm running 30rlxt at the moment. But I'm planing to run a Tunze 6100 on the single controller, so I would like to downsize the return pump from Iwaki 30rlxt to 20rlxt. Any more recomendation on that? Anyhow, thanks very much for your concern.

Just my impresion but I think the Tunze might be a little too much for a 75. I got one for my 225 and had to run it at 50% or less.
I also think that it be bulky as the pump is rather large in size.
