Uno Tarpon Pump

Just received a Sequence Uno Tarpon pump, and the inlet is a different size. It is advertised by most to have a 1" inlet yet it came with a 1-1/2" inlet. I found one reseller offering a choice between the 2 sizes. Does this mean that I can reduce the inlet to 1" without suffering any cavitation?

no, 1.5 to 2 inch, I have to reduce my output on my Wahoo( inlet is 1.5) by a third to stop cavitation, this pump pushes alot of water, talked to MSN about this. My penductors rock with this pump !!!!!
