pfo pendant..plz help

I was wondering if i can take the glass out fron in from of bulb. Unit is about 8 10 inches from water. I want to do this because it is getting a fog look to the glass. I use hqi bulbs

let me try this again its early lol. I was wondering if I can take the glass from in front of the bulb. I use a mini hqi shade.

If you are talking about the double ended bulbs, they do not have a UV coating. That is why the glass is necessary. If you remove it, you will burn your fish or corals with UV. Clean the glass or have a new piece cut.

You can use some vinegar to clean the salt deposits off of it if that is what is fogging up the glass, or a citrus-based cleaner.

I don't recommend removing it though, since like Kernel Panic stated, that's your UV protection on a DE bulb.

do i use water and vinegar or just vinegar. Would the water streak it. wash it with water then vinegar to sanitize?
