Yay! Pics (Finally figured out fish photography)
So I decieded to go take a look at my tank with a flashlight tonight, and foun a few more hitchikers, I also thought I'de try to take some pics (haven't had much luck before) I figured out I had to turn all the lights off, and use the cameras Macro exposure mode. Im sure the fish weren't happy that I turned the light on but the'll get over it. So If you recall yesterday I posted about something spawing or whatever it was from a piece of LR, well I shined the flashlight over there and some sort of worm slowly went back into the hole that the spawn came from. It was a little thing. I don't think I should be concerned Should I? So anyway here are some pics.
Fisrt my Clown ![]() Second is that red thing with the white fuzzy stuff a kind of coral, also what kind of Algae is that circled? Some sort of macro? It doesn't seem to be spreading but I have it on a few rocks, should I get rid of it? ![]() Third I have a few of these long tube like things in my tank are they casing for some sort of worm (mabye the one I saw go into the LR?) ![]() And last I found this little clam which I assume is nothing to worry about, just don't want to look at the tank a year from now and have a 3Ft Clam ![]() ![]() I will try to get some pics of my Yellow Watchman and Tiger Pistol tommorrow, they were sleeping tonight ![]() |

your gonna have to get closer pictures i think. but picture 3 is probably just some type of feather duster ( nothing to worry about ) and the fourth will probaly not get much bigger than it already is. Did you find it on the sand or did you put it there for the photograph?

It was climbing on the glass and fell onto the sand.

2nd pic is to far away to get a good id. but it looks like the beginings of some form of Sargassum Weed. im not 100% on that one.
3rd pic is poop from a peanut worm. hes harmless watch your tank at night with a red light. it will look like a earthworm coming from your rocks. 4th is looks like a bivalve to me as well. harmless filter feeders ![]()

In the second picture, the "red thing with the fuzzy white stuff" I believe is called a 'formaniferan'. Maybe its spelled 'formiferan'. Ive seen an article here on RC about it, but you cant find much info on them. Even the article I read never really listed a picture of them. Anyway, its a harmless filter feeder. I have a good many of them. Mine are smaller, but my tank is still young.
I think the tube is leftover from a featherduster, but Im not positive. HTH |

ok in picture 3 does that move or is it hard?
as Paintbug has said it does look like a peanut worm but would'nt have a casing. the reason i asked where the bivavle origional was is as Anemonebuff said the bore through live rock which some people dont like but as for what they eat as already stated they are filter feeders. |
