Does your Poseidon P4 add heat to your tank?

I bought a Poseidon PS4, with the expectation of the pump adding a few degrees to my 180 gallon tank. I bought a small clip-on fan to run during the day only.
I figured that with the fan being off at night that the tank would warm up a little and even reduced the temp on my heater.
However, I have found that I have experienced no rise in tank temp with this pump.
Has anybody else had the same results?

Am I the only one using this pump?
The Velocity is the same pump.
After using Little Giants, Iwaki's and Pan World pumps, I cannot believe how incredibly silent this pump is.
After seeing a few of these pumps for sale in the used equipment forum, it seemed the main reason the people were selling them was a heat issue.

I am using 2, a t4 and t1 on my 54 corner. There is no life in the tank, but with the MH and such I seem to be maintaining a safe temperature.

I was nervous at first when I started using a t1 on my 29g a long time back, but again it always felt warm to the touch but not the extreme heat that seemed to be described by others.

I run all mine with 3/4" tube and no real restrictions so maybe that makes the difference? No solid comment on why I havent had issues other than conjecture.

It seems to me that the pumps have been given a bad rep for nothing. The one I have is totally silent.

I have the t4 and it does raise the temperature of the tank at least a couple of degrees. It is silent though

geo,
you say it raises the temp, from what to what?
Do you feel the need to do anything? Fans, chiller, icecubes??

Yes I need to do something but have not yet. I am going to mount a fan above the tank to increase evaporation befor I look into a chiller.

Try a clip-on fan blowing on the pump . I bought a 2 speed clip-on fan and use it on the low speed .

A fan works wonders. I have one set to turn on depending on the temperature, over the sump. It can easily pull down the temp through the added evaporation to safe levels. Always worth a try before investing in a chiller.

That being said, I still dont seem to have temperature issues, but I wonder how much more the heater would go on if I were to disable the T4?

This morning as the fan came on I noticed the temp at 78.1. About 2-1/2 hours later, I looked again at the temp and it was 77.8. So there is a real benefit from having the fan blowing on the pump.
