Question Is this another cycle?

Hey all, have a ? for you. I had a 55g reef set up for about 2 years. never had time to care for it with work and family. I took out all live rock but 1 piece about 5lbs and changed cc to sand, (used same water)has been like that the past year or so.

I decided since I do not work anymore and son is grown and gone that I want my Reef back!

I do have to say that I did not do testing of water much with just fish in tank ( I know, "Bad Girl") I went and got about 20lbs of LR from my LFS and it has been in the tank about a week or so (will be getting another 25lbs this week). I did not test water b4 adding LR (not thinking at the time).

I tested water and it is as follows:

Ammo. - 0
PH - 8.2
trites - 5.0
trates - 80+
salinity - 1.024-25 used refractometer

I have done about 3 15-20% water changes in the past week. but trates are still high and now I also have the trites.
I have not had a skimmer on the tank.just a HOB emporer 400.
I have only 2 fish in tank, a perc and a firefish gobie...they seem to be doing fine. have had them for 3 years this past Jan.

My ? is...do you think the LR might be causing it to re-cycle, I put the LR right in the tank I only live about 20-25 min. from the LFS.
but as I said I did not test water b4 adding LR so I do not know if my levels were off b4 that.

Hubby just ordered me a Aqua C Remora w/ maxi-jet 1200, should be in soon, also have Corlife compact 48" and just got all new bulbs 260 watt 2x65actinic 03 and 2x65 10,000k.

so what do you think, Is it doing a cycle? Should I just let it run like it is a New Set-up, and just wait and see?

Any ideas or help with this would be great.

Try to do a greater percentage water change and then add something like Cycle.

Yes, it sounds like you are going through another cycle.
