Unhappy Yellow-eyed Monster Tang!!!

My yellow-eyed tang has claimed my 60 gallon tank as its domain. It really hates my diamond goby and chases it whenever it comes close. When I bought my flame angel, it was going at it for two days, and now they are best friends.

For some reason, my tang just hates my goby and my lawnmower blenny. It's annoying, because now I need to feed my diamond goby separately to make sure he doesn't get too skinny from hiding all the time from the tang.

Anyone else experience this with their tangs? Are gobies and blennies not compatible with tangs?

I was thinking maybe I should catch the yellow eyed tang and keep it in a black container for a while, and then change the liverock around to change up territories...that way it's AS IF the tang was introduced last.

Hello, my yellow eyed Kole tang is the same way. He will chase any newcomers for a while and even chased his refelection in the glass for a while until he got used to it. My Kole chased my Royal gramma for quite a while and now leaves him alone. I added a lawnmower blenny a couple of weeks ago and now the Kole likes to chase him around. I am sure with time this will lessen as well. Give yours time and the chasing should lessen.

I didn't think kole tangs were that agressive. Territorial, yes....but aggressive, no. Oh well....hopefully he stops messing with the blenny. My blenny is always hiding behind the overflow box now....

kole tangs and lawnmower blennies do not get along... they compete for the same food source...

The smaller the tank, the more territorial/aggressive the Tang will be.
