just got a milwaukee orp controller for my ozonizer. i planned to place the probe in the sump, but my sump is very small for my tank (filled to the rim it probably holds 8 gallons, however with rushing water it probably has no more than 4-5 gallons). consequently, with such a small space, turbulence is rather high in the sump, with water coming from the overflow, plus the return pump, and the skimmer pump (a mag 5 for return and the pump rated at 500 gph that came with the CSS 220 super skimmer). the return of the skimmer also creates a lot a flow. I imagine that with such flow my sump is has a slightly higher concentration of oxygen than the main tank, so will it show a higher than average orp value? if so, will it be significant? what affects orp more, oxygen levels or dissolved nutrients? i prefer to have the probe in the sump for appearance sake, but am afraid that locating it there will result in incorrect orp readings. any info will be appreciated. thanks.
