overflow/tank background

Is there a practical way to change the color of an Oceanic reef ready overflow(black) to match a blue background on the tank?
I think the overflow is glass or acrylic

Is the tank empty? If so you could use an epoxy type paint to color the overflow. Or just remove it and get a different one, and then resilicon it in.
