cleaning marine equipment

I read its okay to use vinegar to clean your marine equipment, could you all confirm this? I purchased a 2 month old asm g1-x skimmer, its basically clean but want to clean it up some more, use vinegar to do so? any other suggestions to clean parts up with? Its going to be used in a new setup

Vinegar is fine, especially to remove any built up calcium in your equipment.

Vinegar is the best thing to use, as far as anyone knows.
