48" Tek Light T5 on 60" tank
I like the Tek fixtures but they don't make 60". How does their 48" fixture work on a 5' tank?

I have a 4' maristar fixture on my 5' tank and don't even notice the lighting being dimmer on the two edges. I have no regrets going this way.

I am looking for a lighting solution for the 60x24 I am planning. How deep is your tank? Are you running 2 150s or 250s? What corals do you keep? Thanks |

My tank is 5'x2'x2' I have the fixture about 12" above the water level. The fixture is a maristar 48" with (2) 250 watt phoenix bulbs and (2) 54 watt geissman blue plus. My tank is a combination of soft, lps, and starting sps corals. I have to start the sps low in the tank and gradually raise them over the course of a couple weeks as to not shock them from the lights and bleach them. The fixture was on the expensive side but I am pleased with its performance.

Jeff
Thanks so much for the info. I have really been struggling with what to do for a 60"tank. Mine will only be 20" deep so I figured 2 250s should be plenty of light. I have been considering the Pheonix 14k strongly. A lot of peopel seem to really like them. I am planning on keeping LPS (brain, blasto, acans), SPS (Montipora, Stylophora, maybe acropora), Zoos, Maybe ricordea Again, thanks Kevin |

I have used the 48" tek light on a 60" tank, the ends of the tank were deeper but kept about 6 rbta's alive.
