I like my aquacontroller II. Hopefully I'll be upgrading to the AC III soon

I used the original & it worked very well. A couple of issues, but the customer support was excellent & it got resolved (very minor = time not kept across power failure) very quickly.
Lack of PH & multi-times per day switching, web server, ORP, etc. led me to change over to an ACIII (not really the same league).

I am using the RK1 right now. It serves it purpose really well, but my lighting doesn't get along with it is so I have them on different digial timers now. The makers say they have that all sorted with the new model though. The main issue is can you wait? The RK2 hasn't been released yet (that I know of).

There are still a couple of things the RK2 can't do. One of them is data logging.

I've got the RK1 and I really like it for what it does. I am looking to either upgrade to the RK2 or shell out the money for the ACIII.

Check out the Aquatronica line too. I use it and I'm really happy with it so far. It's far more diverse than the RK2.

Trust me, once you get a taste of having that level of control over your tank, you'll wish you had the Aquatronica. The expandability of the controller with different probes and more probes and options in the future make it a great deal.
I started out looking at the RK and RK2 (was in beta then) for temperature and lighting control. I did a little reading and found the Aquatronica so I checked it out and bought the basic package so I could do the lights and tempurature. Within two weeks, I had most of the rest of the probes and sensors. It's a great setup. I think the deal right now is the Basic Package plus choice of PH or Redox or PC Interface, the details are on the website. |

I've had an Aquacontroller II for about.....8 years. I have no experience wit the reefkeeper.
I still find new things to do with the ACII. I'd imagine the ACIII is even nicer. All those years of product development and real life use in the field are valuable and are incorporated in the newer versions. IMO controllers are just like lights, if you can afford the bigger/better one, go ahead and get it now, becuase you will wish you did later.
