To Much Lights?

Hey guys i got a hair alge problem and i have done tons of water changes, turned lights back, changed light blubs, changed ro filters. but the alge has taken control and growing way to fast, i pull tons by hand every week. do you guys think i have way to much lights. i got 3 400w MH lights with 4 65w actinic blues. tell me what u guys think.

Tell me the times that you have your lights on... And do you use a Timer..?

blue come on at 9am MH comes on at 11am MH goes off at 6pm moons come on at 7pm blues go off at 8 pm and moons go off at 8 am

are they DE or mogul bulbs? what is the history on the tank? thats the big question i think.

Nutrients + light equals algae growth. The more nutrients, the more algae. I would check your water quality.

Do you use RO/DI for makeup and water changes.

yes i have an ro/di filter for all my water.

hey guys i just got a tds meter and the ppm is reading 42 is that would be casuing agle

If your TDS reading is 42 on RODI water, you need to change the filters. (likely all of them). If you have a phosphate test, you might run the test on your makeup water.

so you think it isnt stripping all of the stuff out of the water causing it to produce phospates.

Could be. Just trying to help find the source. TDS on RODI water should read zero.
