Skimmer Help
Just filled up my 75 gal tank and hook everything up. Don't have any rock or sand in yet, but wanted to check and make sure everything was working. I turned on my skimmer and it seems to be running. It isn't producing bubbles and foam like the one in the fish store is. Is there a problem? I have a coralife skimmer that is made for 125 gal.

Takes a few days to break in.
Did you just set your tank up? Any fish yet? You might not have anything to pull out yet

Have you added the salt mix to your water. If not your skimmer will appear to not be working. Needs salt water to perform correctly.

Yes I have added the salt water and the specific gravity is in a good range. When I turned it on it filled up with water up to the collection cup and the water is flowing over the top of the outlet box. Is this what it is suppose to do? There is a nob at the top of the skimmer that the instruction say to turn for wet run or dry run. The guy in the LFS told me to run it wet. I turned the nob so the water come about 3 inches up the tube inside the collection cup. Is this right?

Oh... and yes it is a new setup. I haven't added anything yet. I wanted to make sure everything was working before I started curing my live rock. Right now I have a fuge, skimmer, heater, and three powerheads set up.

Every skimmer is a bit unique. Keep woking with the adjustment until you are getting an inch or two of skim product in your collection cup each day. Your control and adjustment will get refined as you become more familiar with the unit. A new tank with no bio-load will not have a lot to skim out.

You can wait abit, till you add the rocks and gravel, it may not show foam. JD
