silent and cool pump?

my temp is high around 83 deg. even my heater is set to 75. i think that my pump is transferring lot of heat. im using viaaqua 3600 around 1057 gph. inside my sump. whats a good pump that is silent and doesnt transfer lots of heat? im looking around 1200 gph, submerged pump. is mag12 a good choice?

mag's transfer heat.

Look into an Eheim, though i'll need to check the flow on their largest offering.

OR you could just use a smaller pump. An eheim 1250 would be plenty.

It seems to me that eheims do transfer heat. While im not on the same scale as you so it may be better for his aplication, I hat a QO 3000 in sump and 2 maxijet PH and switched over to an eheim 1260 plumbed externally for my sump and an eheim 1262 plumbed externally for a closed loop and my temperature has rose about 1.6 degrees.

There is definately some heat transfer from the e-heims too but it seems to be less than the heat transfer for mags of similar size. (Any pump that is internally cooled will transfer heat to the aquarium.) You will probably see some difference by switching pumps but maybe not as big as the difference that you are looking for. For starters, I would recommend using a MUCH smaller return pump than you are using now, something in the 250-350 gph at your head pressure will be more than adequate for filtration needs, cheaper, and transfer a lot less heat than a 1000 gph pump.

It seems likely that it is the lighting that is transfering most of the heat into the tank though. I can't say for sure because you do not mention your lighting set-up in your e-mail. What type/quantity of lighting do you have? Are you running any fans? Are they in an inclosed hood? What time cycles are they on and off? This is critical information for helping to fix a heat problem.
