stringy algae, almost like cotton candy?
ive got this algae that just appeared in my 2 year old tank, its sporadic and is stringy, its rust colored, its not cyano as ive had that and it is more of a mat form and dark brown....................any clues? i could post a pic later if need be....................i run ozone, i use ro/di water. i feed once every 3 days...............i cant believe i have yet another algae pop up............................its almost time to change my t-5s, could that cause this , the bulbs being old?
oh, and i have a 4" dsb, something ill never do again , but this junk is on some rock too , but only in certain areas , its weird |

I would see if the flow is low and or non at all where this algae is growing. Cyano comes in all differnt types of colors and doesnt have to look slimy.
