I'm wondering if it is possible to grow macroaglea in the sump?

You need to have a baffle of some sort to keep macroalgae out of the return pump, or any other pump, for that matter. What equipment do you have in your sump?

What kind of protein skimmer, or is it a built-in? Can you find a link for the product?

FYI, if you don't have baffles you can do what I did and use a few breeder tanks:

What is baffles? What does it do? And how do you do with breeder tanks? thanks.

That animation should help. The black lines between the refugium and the return pump are baffles.

Wow! Very well detailed information about sump! Thanks so much. We're thinking about buying a new sump but a better one that has clear can see through and less noisy due to the tube that goes directly inside plus with a nice filter insertation. We have to find someone who is interested in our sump. Again, thanks! Michelle
