New to the hobby please help

Hi guys. I am new to the hobby and reading quite alot of post and advice you guys have. I have a question about using actual sea water and not using the mixed water most of you use. Our aquarium at out waterfront offer free sea water to marine hobbiests. Aparently the water quality is good cos it goes through alot of filtrations and stuff. Most of our pet stores that sell marine livestock use their water and are quite proud of it and is advising me to use it as well. I dont see any posts about this approuch on the forum and would like to know others opinion on this matter. Thanks for you guys inputs

Mmmmmmm Natural Sea Water eah.....!

What kind of filtration do they put it through.......?

Also can be sure that you aint gonna introduce something via your "Natural Sea Water" to your display that you do not require in their.....?

Mmmmmm Why are they giving it away Free.......?

Always be aware of people giving away Free Thing's....!

Mmmmmm maybe I am just sceptacle.......?

Mmmmmmm maybe not......!

You will probably invest a lot of time and effort as well as money setting up your Display

Why skimp on such a key element of your display Aquarium

Talk too people who have used this water Long Term and find out from them. And not the people in LFS where they sell sorry I mean give it away....!

Good Luck.......I wish you well

Enjoy your new found hobby

You will find a great deal of help from this Website

Sorry if I was a bit misleading on the fre water part. In order to get free water you need to become a member with the aquarium. in which you pay R120 or $20. so you have access to all their facilities for the year and free water for you own personal aquarium. I dont know how they filter their water but everyone I met in the hobby at the pet stores are raving about it and all said that they used mixed water before but change cos their live stock seem much healthier and take to the water better. I just want to know if I do use it what should I look out for tho

If they're filtering it, it should be all right. Getting a bucket off the beach---no. But this sounds as if it's done properly.
