Salt Water Tank From Ocean ?
I was wondering if any one has ever had succsess with setting up a salt water tank with from ocean only? My son and I have set up a 75 gal tank with only items from Cape Cod ocean items and is doing pretty well. It was started in Aug of 2005: 3 inches of ocean sand from deep water and all fresh ocean salt water. We started doing water changes in Nov. with out ocean water by using coral pro salt and r/o water. It started with 3 small striped Bass and 2 small blue fish. We are down to just 1 striped bass about 8 inches long let the rest go for fall. I have now added a small trigger, and elbi angel and seabee clown. They were evicted from my larger reef tank due to bad manors. Tank has gone thru many cycles and wondering if it is worth getting skimmer and setting up sump filter for it. I put in 50lbs of live rock 2 weeks ago and is getting good color. Thanks for your time I wish I could add pgotos but new to this forum stuff.

I will add some photos tomorrow night I think you will all enjoy. It is not every day you see a Striped Bass living with fish from half way around the world.
