seeding coraline algae

hi..how do i seed my tank with coraline algae. do i just put the scrapings in the tank, or is there a specific place i should put it(high water flow). do i chop up the scrapings? thanks

Coraline alge likes,high flow and low light.But just putting it in the tank should work.

also if read that scrapeing it helps too, in mine when i scrape a spot or too off the front glasses more always seems to be back next time, i

also keep alk and calcium at proper levels, it will take off and add scraping corriline off to the chore list

try some good live rock with a lot of coralline already on it to seed your tank if you can find some near you. I also had great results with "Purple-Up" when I was getting started...now my rocks really are purple, pink, red, blue, and green!

if your going to add some live rock to seed it, check out some of the indonesia from www.reefscience.com lots of coralline in several colors, heres a pic of one of the peices in one of my threads, it looked like this from day one
