Frozen Brine and silicates. (ie brown algae/diatoms on the glass)

It took me a while to track down the fuel for the brown film on my glass. I dont know if i'm the only one who didnt know this, but if you ever took one of those frozen cubes and stuck in in about 10 ml of RODI, and then tested the water after it settles, the reading will be off the scale. Feeding frozen brine to my nano tipped me off to this.

FYI spirulina and other (presumably) high quality foods dont have such a high silicate level.

Anyways, it was news to me...
