2.5 + clown = algae?

Hi,

I recently setup a 2.5 gallon minibow reef. So far in the tank is:

zoos, yellow polyps, mushrooms, 1 small green brain coral, GSP, 1 large featherduster, 2 snails, hermits, and 3 + pounds of LR. There is a also a small clown (occelaris)

However, even though the levels are all stable, there is a lot of brown film algae becoming established on the glass. I am thinking of taking the clown out and putting him in the fully stocked main reef tank. OR, is the fikm algae just a normal part of the new tank setup (about established for 1 month-got all the sand and LR from main tank).

Any advice is welcome. I do think that the clown would love the big tank and the torch coral....however, there is a dwarf angel and yellow tailed damsel in it..

Thanks

Althought the brown film is a normal part of a new tank (diatoms) I think a 2.5 gallon tank is far too small for a fish, and you, and you fish would be better off by relocation to a larger tank.

you could always put a small goby or a pair of sexy shrimp, that would be better than a clown, they produce to much waste for a 2.5 gal

sounds like diatom which is kind of normal at this stage if the tank has only been up for a month I had to go through 3 differant stages of algae and I,m just now kind of getting over them and my tank is about 1 1/2 yrs old
