It's finally done!
I am now finally finished with my 24 aquapod setup.
Custom hang on refugium, 2r bak-pak skimmer, auto top off, heater/chiller, 150 watt halide sunpod, white LEDs, blue LEDs, UV sterilizer, extra in-tank powerhead SPS acro, zoos, xenia, crocea, derasa, the works. I am done! Finally! Now I shall sit back and watch it all grow. What do you all think?

What a beaut. You got that right, I'd sit down myself for hours if my tank looks lush like that. Great job dude.
By the way, I am a beginner reefer. You know how when you buy frags or mushrooms and stuff from LFS they are usually attached to rocks? So if you buy a lot of them, don't you end up with a bunch of rocks? What's the secret that I don't know about? Do you detach the frags from their rocks and super glue them to your rocks the way you want their placement to be? I may just be too much of a newbie when it comes to this. Sorry. I am invaded by rocks. |

Looks very nice, but were never really done with our tanks if you know what I mean. You will want to add something or change something, we always do.
How do you like your Aquapod? I have an Aquapod to, it is holding my Snowflake Eel and a few other's as well as some corals. I am pretty much done with it right now and letting it grow as well, it is coming on 2 months old. Mine is a straight forward Aquapod w/ the 72w PC lighting and no other changes, having to be completely closed because of the Eel.

archie1709: go to your FRIENDLY lfs and ask how much you can get single polyps for. You will be surprised at how many you can find that have detached from the main colony and grabed small rocks or sand, then place them in a non current section of your tank and keep doing it until they attach, it gets frustrating but once they attach they look great, I have about 50 mushrooms in my 24 aquapod, and probably about 40 types of mushrrom as well, "neons, hairy, greens, electrics, ect.. and if you are lucky the lfs wont care and let you have them. FREE!!!!!
I love my 2006 aquapod, the only thing I have to disagree with is the back plastic design between the sump and the actual show tank. It curves inward in the middle which restricts a lot so trying to get a refugium and a skimmer on the back is a LOT of long hours of work. I custom made my refugium out of acrylic with the acid glue and my own design and demensions. It's about a 3 gallon refugium that is growing cheato and pods like crazy! In the last two months of having my aquapod I have noticed already fantastic growth from my corals. My zoos on one rock in particular doubled from 4 to 8 in less then a month. The 2006 aquapod in my experience is all worth while, just be patient, do 5 gallons water change a week, look at the tank at least 12 hours of the day every day, and your set. P.S. The last step is for true reefers who can never stop thinking of thier reefs and can never stop looking at them.
