RO/DI fitler 2 years old
2 years ago I set-up a 6 stage, 100gpd RO/DI filter after 1 year I changed the filter. Did not change the RO or DI filters. It's been 1 year since I last changed the filters and I finally bought a TDS meter. Much to my surprise the filter unit is bringing the TDS down from 232 to 7! The meter is one that you hook up inline on both the in and out of the filter. The filter unit I bought from an outfit in Canada and is the second one I bought from them.

You are likely running on borrowed time - be careful you don't allow the pre-membrane carbon stage to become exhausted - it will allow chlorine through to your membrane.
A partially clogged sediment prefilter can be used for a looooong time, however if not allowing free flow of water it will reduce the efficiency of the system. |
