Flow stressing clowns? Hrmm...
I have a 10 gal reef with a 50 and a 90 powerhead providing flow at either end of the tank.
I also have 2 junior clowns (1/2" long) which have seemed healthy for 2 weeks. No signs of stress but im wondering if all that water movement is simply beating the tar out of them. Theyre little guys and i dont want them swimming for their lives. Thanks in advance. Also in tank: 4 Xenia emerald crab/pepp shrimp/hermits/snails Tube worm LR |

By 50 and 90 you mean that is how many gph they are pushing? If so that is nothing to worry about.

They have to swim to live, SW fish are not like FW fish who like still water, they need currents to be healthy. That said, try to arrange your powerheads so they are pointing toward the aquarium at angles this helps to break up the full brunt of the output. Try to have enough flow that you minimize any dead spots in your system where detritus can collect.
