Lightbulb If anyone's lawnmower blenny is starting to starve...I have a small solution:

I did some research on the web after noticing that my blenny completely demolished my algae growth in the tank and started starving because there wasn't any algae left for him to eat.

My kole tang also is very hostile towards my blenny, and doesn't allow it to swim further than a few inches from its hiding place in a piece of liverock. This creates even more stress and starvation for the blenny because it doesn't get a chance to wander out and find food for itself.

So, my research yielded a pellet food called "New Life Spectrum" for marine fish. Another reefer had tried it with his starving blenny, and after two or three days, the blenny was scarfing the stuff down and becoming plump again.

I tried it myself, and at first, my blenny was just eating and spitting the pellets out. It's been about 3 days of feeding, and he now pokes his head out of the liverock waiting for me to put the food right in front of his little hole in the rock. Only bad thing is that I practically have to hand-feed the guy because my cleaner shrimp tries to steal the food from the blenny.

So, in a nutshell, if you guys are having the same problems with your lawnmower blenny, you might wanna try out this food... so far, it's working for me, but I want to make sure the blenny becomes "plump" again before I say that it was a complete success.

Oh...and I don't work for New Life Spectrum...just in case you guys think I'm just trying to advertise the company. I'm just trying to save my starving blenny!!! =P

You might try seaweed in a clip near his hiding place, too.

Good luck - they are the COOLEST fish!
