Good Calcium Test Kit

Can anyone recommend a good calcium test kit?

I was going to place an order with drsfostersmith anyway so I thought I would pick one up.

They have the Hagen Calcium Test kit for $8.99 or the Seachem Reefstatus for $20.99.

Thanks!

IMO do not get the Seachem. I can not comment on Hagen. I like Salifert.

Salifert test kits are great.

And if you ever run into any problems or questions, Habib is always able to help in the Salifert forums!

i agree! i use the seachem calc test and a few others. i am thrilled with their results. they are as accurate as the Saliferts. i use some of them as well. i would stick with one of those 2 brands however. SeaChem and Salifert both have great customer support if you do need them!

Thanks, thats what I thought... Salifert I think is a bit overpriced. But they are good test kits.

I like both seachem and salifert. Both have sharper cutoff that the others I've tried. Only problem I've had with seachem is the dry reagent tends to clump and solidify over time.

Hadn't tried that. The bag, that is. Must have read the instructions at some point. Right?

Did throw a bag of dessicant in the box, but I think being in a bathroom behind the tank during a humid DC summer defeated that pretty quickly.

I use Seachem Reefstatus. It uses the titration method which is easy to interpret. I have trouble matching those color strips to my sample. The reefstatus kit performs 150 tests so it is really a pretty good deal.
