Do Blue Legged hermit crabs eat bryopsis?

Do they eat bryopsis?
I have obtained some liverock with some nice stuff growing on it, but also a smattering of bryopsis. Would be impossible to kill the bryopsis without killing a lot of other stuff.
My tank is bryopsis free so I'm reluctant to add any, the new rock is in another tank at this stage. However the blue legged hermits do an awesome job on the other algae, if they did the same on the bryopsis it will not be a problem.
Anybody know?

wilsonh - IMO and IME, the short answer is no. Under any circumstances should you ever add that rock to your system until it's been completely eradicated. That may take some time and effort on your part. Even if the bryopsis dies back in the Q tank, it may come back with a vengeance in your main system. Consider your options carefully.

I have seen them pick at algae, but I doubt they would really eat bryopsis.

I think if you asked around to those who have battled bryopsis in their main system, given the choice to either combat the issue in the main system or in separate system. They would overwhelming choose the later.

They don't touch it in my tank. If u can keep it out of ur main tank, do so!!! This stuff is a real pain. A lot of hand picking, reduced photo period and water changes are about the only thiing I have found to get this stuff out of ur tank.
