Sand Sifting CLownfish?

Hey everyone hows it going, i have a question regarding my Gold Stripe Maroon Clownfish. I just recently setup my new tank and i have this clownfish for about 2+ years. Her nehaviour has never been like this untill i put her in the new tank. She is about 3 - 4 inches and very thick in size, im guessing she has become a female now. But my problem is she will sift the sand all over the tank leaving holes all over the bottom on the tank. She will turn her back to the spot and wag her tail digging a hole in the sand. I have heard that this is a spawing behaviour is this true? Also if so how would i get her to stop doing this? I have considered getting her a mate, but i do not wanna introduce an amenone to my tank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks YOu

There is nothing you can do about it and it is normal. The female in my pair of GSM clowns does the same thing. She mostly does it around the anemone since she wont stray far from it.

Just because you get your clown fish a mate dosent mean you need to get a anemone. Clownfish will often mate without one if that is what you want. A flower pot or just a rock cave will often work if you want babies.
