filter feeding question

i have a 65 gallon tank with a few filter feeders. i have been told many things about how much to feed them my live stock includes a few corals, dusters, and a scallop, i am feeding them (liquid life coral plankton )
also i have a filter sock in my sump it is a 100 count sock. should i remove it or will the filter food go past it or should i shut the sump off for 1 hour when feeding.

thank you for your help

1. how often should i feed them

2. what to do with my filter sock

I feed phytoplankton every day, and I turn off the skimmer for 3 hours to let the animals get to the food. I don't run a filter sock, so I can't help you there.

I would be careful about turning off the skimmer if the tank is heavily stocked.
