New to the hobby and boards

Hello all. thanks for having such a great site. im in the process of setting up my first salt tank. i wanna go the reef route not a fish only tank. i wanna have mostly coral and inverts in the tank which is 75 gallons i might only have 10 fish in there. my question is will i need a calcium reactor. i understand that there are supplements i can put in the water to replace it. im not sure how often this (putting supplements) need to occur. would it be cheaper in the long run to get a calcium reactor or am i reading to much into it.

Also is it ok to post in the new to hobby sectiion the equiptment i am buy. so others can see if A) there is a better cheaper alterntive. B) the aquarium store is trying to sell me something i dont need. or C) if there is something else i need.

Thanks so much.
Chuck

To Reef Central

Well you don't have to have a calcium reactor. What type of corals do you plan on keeping?

Yea, you don't have to have one. I just use limewater and liquid calcium. If you wanted a SPS only tank then that would be another story.
