Starting off with corals...
Not sure if I should post this here or in the New Guys room, but what the heck. I'm moving, which stinks, but I do get to completely redo my tanks, so that'll be a plus. For the past three years I've had a 25 gal reef tank and a 90 gal fish only tank. The 25 gal tank was extremely self supporting, I just tossed in a little food for the few fish and the corals thrived. The 90 gal didn't do as well, any coral I put in there slowly withered away, so it eventually just stayed a fish only.
My goal once I get to OKC (gotta love the AF) is to set the 90 up as a reef tank. I'm wondering if anyone can give me some basic advice on doing it right from the git-go, point me at a good book or a detailed link, or something along those lines. Thanks for the help. |

The corals in the 90 might have been dieing due to water problems, lack of lighting, or poor water quailty. What are your water levels and lighting?

Agreed also you have to look into other things such as skimmers and water flow in a tank that large... true it should be easier to keep a larger reef, but you have to have the right equipment to do it first
