yeah i think he wuld be fine. If he does seem to get cramped you can always trade him into your LFS for a smaller one.

My Yellow Tang is also very friendly to his tankmates. No one will try to fight with him for a territory, but he doesn't bully his way to get what he wants. My tomato clown and talbot will go at each other a little everyone once and a while but no one bothers the tang, and he doesn't bother them. Actually alot of times i can see my tang getting cleaned by my blood shrimp.

Do what you want it's your money. For my money, 6' tank for tangs. That's why I have a 125...

if you get a small tang you will be absolutly fine i had a yellow tang in the exact same tank for 3 years and i didnt even notice that he grew at all. and at the end of the three years he didnt die i sold him because i got rid of the reef the yellow tangs dont get that big that fast. i think you will be fine.

If you got a smaller yellow tang then you could have him for one or two years before he would get too large and then you would have to upgrade or find him a new home.
