Question Coral feeding method?

I have had a FOWLR tank for 7 years. In a recent new burst of enthusiasm for the hobby I have decided to add some corals. I have many mushrooms but I want to add some different softies and maybe some LPS corals. I really don't have the time for or want the additional work of target feeding the corals.

I have two SEIO 1500gph stream powerheads, one on each end of the tank that move the water nicely with much random turbulence. I have two star polyps that seem to like the flow.

I was wondering if I turned off my return pump so no water was going over my overflow and I dosed the tank with zooplankton and let it circulate for 2 hours or so if this would "auto feed" my corals adequately.

Would once per week be enough feedings for softies and LPS? Would the remaining zooplankton be removed by my skimmer or would it hang around and cause an algal bloom? Thanks!

(I also posted this question on the coral forum but I want as many opinions as possible on this subject.)
