No problem. I guess you only get lucky once. My 58 took 10 days to cycle, now i'm getting hit with the other end of the stick lol. Its so tempting to see that big tank just sitting there. Do you think adding more live rock (cured of course) would be detrimental or benificial?

more LR is always good, more biological filtration.

some people say to have 2 pounds per gallon, some say 1 pound.

I say its personel preference,

Good things come in time, rushing could cause issues.

what are your water paramerters? ammonia, nitrite and nitrates?

All i'm checking now is ammonia, since the others don't really matter 'till i've locked that sucker down. Right now i've got 1 and a half in my current tank, and am leaning to about that in the new one.

Let it ride!
You will get your cycle completed and then can add a few fish which will cause another one. Then you can add a few more and do it again!

i would have someone else check the water. I had a test kit one time that read 40ppm nitrate all the time. I used another kit it tested nothing. I had it tested at the lfs and it tested 1. the kit was bad. i really wouldnt expect the SAME reading for that long if it had started to drop then got stuck. Thats what the nitrate in that tank did. It was at like 100 or so and it dropped to about 40 in a couple weeks of doing waterchanges and cleaning the detritus out of the filter media and stuff (it was a tank at school that i had just started on and had been somewhat neglected before i got there) it stayed at 40 for over a month, but it was really nothing by that point.

Unfortunatly, i did have the kit checked and its on the money. I bought about two pounds of some really cured nice live rock today, and plan to get 5-10 tomorrow to add to that good bacteria count.
